December 21 is the 75th anniversary of the day when Kurt Tucholsky took his own life in Swedish exile after he fled the Nazis. Kurt Tucholsky was one of the most important political journalists and satirists in Weimar Berlin, a staunch critic of the Nazis, but also a poet who wrote novels and plays. He was one of the first ten people whose books were burned by the Nazis who saw him as enemy No 1. We are proud to publish Tucholsky's work translated into English. The latest of now five books is "Hereafter", musings about the afterlife.
