For the past 7 years I've held a new and used book sale to benefit the library. Every year I haul out some of the same old tired outdated books that no one ever buys (though there are some exceptions, which always surprise me). I'm talking about politics and sociology 30-40 years out of date, old children's fiction and non-fiction that is rarely touched and worst of all, reference (even really nice stuff). I know I could truck all this to our public library, but some of the children's literature might be historically valuable. I seem to remember someone was setting up a repository of classic children's literature. Where is that and what kind of items are of interest? I have some Hebrew grammar books from Israel from the 40s, stories in Hebrew from the 40s, 50s, and 60s; kid's fiction and non-fiction in English from the 40s-70s. Is there someone from my area (southwest Michigan) who could evaluate some of this? What have others done?
