I wonder if the book inquired about is Leon Uris' Exodus, which was
published in the 1950s but still in print in the 1960s in paperback. It has
an extensive and vivid depiction of the rescue of the Danish Jews, if I
recall correctly.

I will offer the patron the choice between:
Rescue in Denmark by Harold Flender 1963
A Night of Watching, by Elliott Arnold Published by Scribner in 1967.
The other titles suggested were mostly published after 1970, so they would not
be suitable to what she is looking for.
Not quite my time period (I was born in '69).
I'm going to guess A Night of Watching.

"I am trying to remember the name of a novel I read in the 1960’s. It was the
