My very talented friends have just released the sequel to "The Fruitfly
Rabbi," an enjoyable read for synagogue libraries, for the adult section.

*“The Rabbi’s in Trouble:” A Great Summer Read*

Readers have eagerly awaited the sequel to the engrossing and entertaining
novel, “Fruitfly Rabbi,” and they won’t be disappointed. This new book,
“The Rabbi’s in Trouble,” follows neophyte Rabbi Joshua Stein as he
continues to navigate the never-ending complications and surprises he
encounters at Congregation Lev Shalom, a prestigious synagogue in Chicago,
Illinois. There’s plenty of mystery, romance and revelation, as Stein
interacts with a cast of quirky characters. Let me mention town gossip
Kalman, shalom-promoting Elijah Dalton, high-maintance Rachel, and
dream-world-resident Kayla, to give a mere sample.

Although the authors claim that all their characters are fictitious, their
observations are right-on, and one gets a real sense of a rabbi’s world.
The fact that Rabbi Stein is young and unmarried offers additional
opportunities for plot twists and turns.

The authors, Chana Shapiro and Meta Miller, are no strangers to the
intricacies of synagogue life. Chana Shapiro is a writer, illustrator and
popular columnist at the Atlanta Jewish Times, with four decades of
hands-on experience in Jewish organizations. Meta Miller is a former
rebbitzen, honored Jewish educator and mentor. Their insight, empathy and
humor are evident in both of their books, which are fun to read and
thoroughly enjoyable separately, as well as in sequence.

Book clubs, this one’s for you!

The Rabbi’s in Trouble” (and its prequel, “Fruitfly Rabbi”) can be
purchased in paperback or Kindle versions from Amazon books. In Atlanta,
books can be purchased at Judaica Corner and Tall Tales Bookstore.

.SIncerely,
