specifically requested replies *off-list* because I didn’t want to get into

here is that novels and memoirs aren't curriculum -- though they can be on
book lists and make their way into the classroom.

Thanks for bringing up this painful issue of bias against Israel (and Jews)
that is used in schools. This issue has been brought up in the past and needs
to be revisited.
