When I read papers from the last eight years they refer to Haskell 1.x or Gofer or some specific implementation.(Hugs, GHC, etc.) Does anyone have a useful summary for how these all compare to each other? As a beginner I struggle a bit when I wonder if I will be able to recreate, say, Liang et al.'s "monad transformers" from their 1995 paper directly in Hugs or HBC or ???.
