I suspect this may be an instance of http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/2985 Or (less likely) http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/2722 Can you try with the HEAD? Or the 6.10 branch (which includes the fix for #2985)?
