OK, if 10.6 and 10.7 work that should be fine. We talked about
dropping 10.5, and I agree that this would be acceptable (I have one
10.5 system myself, but I can live with building from source). I was
just asking whether we're blocked on 10.7 because I seem to remember
something to that effect.

I have an HP built with the 7.0.4 from the installer from GHC central.
I have the 32 bit version built and working on 10.7 and 10.6. I'm
pretty certain the 64 bit will work as well. Neither will work

The most recently available Macs that are 32-bit only, the Core-series
Mac Mini, were shipping a hair over 4 years ago.
The first generation of Intel-based desktops used the 32-bit-only Core
processors. The last model to switch to the 64-bit capable Core 2
processors was the Mac Mini; the ann
Hi Mark, thanks for all the great news about the upcoming goodies in

I'm game either way. I've heard no serious issues with the 64-bit version,
so we could "default" to it, or only build it. At this point, only 5+ year
old machines or folks still on 10.5 would be out.

Hi there,
I have 3 questions
1: will ghc for OSX be 64bit by default this time around?
2: is it going to be an issue that for a lot of the new OSX, gcc no
longer exist, it's clang-gcc now.
3: any chance we can have uninstall instructions to uninstall previous
versions? :)
Thanks

By which I presume you mean do a major HP release based on GHC 7.0.4.
That means we stick with the core lib versions that come with GHC 7.0.4,
and update to the latest version of other libs as nor

Hi all,
I'd like to solicit opinions on what we should do for our next HP
release.
The main issue is GHC. We have GHC 7.2.1 out now, but it's fairly widely
agreed that it is not ready for an HP release. We are expecting GHC
7.4.1 towards the end of the year [1] and we do not expect there to be a
