Yes, that's the problem. Some long bucket names are listed in the results from
ec2-describe-images, but others are not. I've added a workaround to the script
distribution at https://hbase.s3.amazonaws.com/hbase-ec2-0.20.4.tar.gz and in
HBase SVN.

scripts that ship with 0.20.4 don't work:
