IntraCranial volume is based entirely on the determinant of the talairch transform. We don’t check the accuracy of that transform because it doesn’t even need to be accurate for FreeSurfer to generate correct surfaces and segmentations.
So, frankly, I wouldn’t use the IntraCranial volume estimate.
