If you would like true decentralization take a look for git
decentralization techniques atop of L2 chains.. As I know all of those
projects stalled a little bit.

Here I would like to suggest next step to trusted decentralized Guix
software distribution using IGiS (igis.io) ipfs based sources storage
system.
It would be great to integrate IGiS protocol to Guix packages system to
eliminate Github (Gitlab, etc..) as single point of failure and censorship.
