We have a Milestone Histos 3 Microwave processor, and we process our prostate bx's and bladder bx's between 2 sponges. The sponges are moist with 10% formalin to keep the tissue from drying out. The bx's don't move around or get tangled. It works very well. Andrea O'Brien HT(ASCP) -

Jay Lundgren thought of several more things I didn't think of. It's essential to get the biopsy cores strung out straight - remember the pathologist has to measure them on the slide. You do of course have to use two of the blue sponges. If the tissue is adequately fixed, you shouldn't get crush
