Nancy, I would say that it can be done in a very particular situation: i.e.: no
more tissue available, and type of IHC stain. If it is a dual stain,
pathologist can not obtain the good results. In the lab I worked before, it was
done, but this technique was not part of the protocol.

Regardless of the position of the tissue: control/ patient ‘s tissue, most
likely is the distribution of the reagents during staining, isn’t adequate.
Syringe, staining reagents expiration, calibration, etc., Have you contacted
service from Leica? Hope the solution is found,

Toni, the complete information can be found on the manufacturer specifications
for these auto stainers. The only factor to be solved, no matter what
instrument you will be selecting, is that you keep close monitoring of the
service required for them. Important to be on the correct TAT.
