[Histonet] One step trichrome kits

2013-08-14 Thread Lori White
Hi,

Can anybody recommend a one step trichrome kit for manual staining? We
currently use the Light Green kit from Sigma and are not happy with the
consistency of the reagents.

Thanks,

Lori W

[Histonet] RE: HE Stainer Leica vs Sakura

2013-03-20 Thread Lori White
Hi Sophia,
I am a big fan of the Prisma stainer. We have two of them - one for routine
staining, linked to the coverslipper and the other is used for Cytology and
some automated special stains. We have had them for five years with no
problems other than the replacement of the door latches.

Hi,

We are currently looking to switch out our linear MKII stainer for either a
Leica XL autostainer or the Sakura Tissue-Tek Prisma. Any recommendations?
Are quantity of HEs is increasing and we need adequate equipment to meet
our workload. The incorporated oven seems excellent on both stainers. Any
pros/cons would be greatly appreciated! Also, if you are currently using
the stainer, does it meet your workload and what is your volume?

Thanks!

Sophia

Our alcohols that cannot be recycled (contaminated with xylene) are combined
with other flammable waste and dealt with by an external company.

Hello All,
I have been using Maxvision anti-Rabbit HRP secondary antibody with
excellent results. The product has been discontinued. Has anyone found a
good substitution for this antibody?
Thank you.

[Histonet] Slide Mate printers

2013-02-13 Thread Lori White
Hi,

We recently installed Slide Mate printers and are experiencing poor print
quality despite several onsite service calls. The vendor is attributing the
problems to the slides we are using even though we are using Colorfrost
slides from the manufacturer's List of Approved Slides. Has anybody
successfully implemented these printers? If so, could you please share what
slides you are using?

Thanks in advance.

[Histonet] Tissue Processor

Hi Mike,
We have both the VIP6 and TEC5 and are extremely happy with them. What you
spend up front, you will save in repair costs, downtime and frustration.

I am looking to purchase a Processor and embedding center. I have received a
quote for VIP6 and a TEC5 but they seem to be a bit out of our price range.
Does anyone have another Processor/embedding center that they found to be
reliable?

Thanks
Mike
