I've been told that the HPV testing will be discontinued as of end of year. HPV
expresses the P16 gene but so does other type of cancers associated with HPV.

It is possible to have a P16 pos and HPV negative test.
But is it not possible to have HPV pos and P16 neg. if HPV is positive then
the P16 is also positive.

So the P16 cannot be used to replace the HPV testing can it?

DAB chromogen tablet to 10ml PBS and 10ul hydrogen peroxide again before
immersing slides for 8 min, then stain with haematoxylin per usual,
dehydrate, clear mount. I feel like I need a super quencher or
something?! Any tips would be most helpful. (My slides also undergo
antigen retrieval in citrate buffer ph6 for 10min @ 95deg and 20min at

Need to speak with a Technical contact regarding SelecTech staining
system - someone who can give details about expiration dates. Cannot
find contact info online. Thanks!

[Histonet] Re p16 antibody

2011-06-17 Thread Jayne Halli
Tom, I have the Dako Autostainer Lin 48 and use the platform Flex
envision kit, but I get my p16 from Cintec it is the only IVD I could
find. They are very helpful in helping you work it up with any platform
you may be using.
