         UNDILAH PAS DAN BARISAN ALTERNATIF
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sementara ada yang kita kecam peribadi buruk Saddam Hussein, maka
akhir-akhir terjawab kenapa rakyat Iraq yang terdiri dari
banyak puak dan mazhab tidak sanggup menggulingkannya. Semenjak
Saddam merasa dia tertekan dan hasratnya adalah untuk menyatukan
rakyat Iraq, dia mula memberi kebebasan dan galakan yang seluas-
luasnya untuk mendalami dan menghayati ajaran-ajaran Islam.
Saddam sendiri mengarahkan ulama membimbing rakyat Iraq agar
membaca dan mengkaji kitab-kitab fekah dan menghafal ayat-ayat
Al-Qur'an. Tindakan Saddam itu telah menghapuskan rasa benci
terhadapnya. Dia membekalkan tenteranya dengan latihan yang
cukup serta pendidikan Islam yang meluas. Ini menyebabkan rakyat
Iraq seolah-olah bermimpi Saddam sudah insaf dan bertaubat.
Saddam membekalkan makanan yang cukup bagi setiap keluarga Iraq
bagi selama 6 bulan sekiranya perang meletus.
Kebetulan semasa Iraq dikenakan sekatan ekonomi, Saddam merasa
terharu menerima kunjungan daripada banyak ulama-ulama dari seluruh
dunia termasuk kunjungan daripada TG Hj. Hadi Awang dan almarhum
Ust. Fadhil Noor. Ulama-ulama Islam telah memberi dorongan kepada
Saddam supaya bergantung kepada kekuasaan Allah dan pertunjuk Islam.
Keadaan begini telah memberi keyakinan kepada Saddam supaya
mengambil Islam sebagai benteng. Ketika ini Iraq sedang diserang,
Saddam mengisytiharkan Jihad terhadap penceroboh (Amerika dan
sekutunya).
Rakyat Iraq sudah maafkan Saddam dan sudah bersatu. Tak kira
apa puak dan mazhab sekalipun ...Sunni, Wahabi dan Syiah. Mereka
semua dibekalkan dengan senjata. Jika Saddam bimbang terhadap
rakyatnya sendiri memberontak, tentu dia tak bagi senjata kepada
mereka, Ini menunjukkan rakyat Iraq sebulat suara menyokong
Saddam.
United Against Invasion, Iraqis Bury The Hatchet.
By Imam El-Leithy, IOL Baghdad Correspondent
BAGHDAD, April 3 (IslamOnline.net) – Under U.S. constant and brutal
bombardment of Baghdad and all other Iraqi cities, Iraqis decided to
forget their internal conflicts and stand firmly united in the face
of the U.S.-led invasion of their land.
Through my experience here in Baghdad, I could see that Saddam has
managed to gain more popularity among his own people. He has distri-
buted foodstuff and stocks among Iraqi families that suffice them to
survive for six months at least. Baath Party’s representatives have
made tours among Iraqi houses to give weapons to Iraqi families to
equip themselves and defend their land against the U.S.-led invasion.
It has become a usual thing to find barrels of gasoline and petrol as
well as sacks of flour, sugar and oil in every single house in Baghdad.
You rarely find a house that does not have weapons of different types.
This coherence on the part of Iraqi common people has been preceded by
another step that is more important in the modern history of Iraq,
namely, the national Islamic tendency of the Baath Party that formed
the Jerusalem Army and the Popular Islamic Conference Organization.
Such a tendency has been the basis of promotion for the party’s cadres.
An Islamic activist in Iraq told me that a cadre should pass a course
of Fiqh, learn by heart some parts of the holy Qur’an and study some
Islamic books by senior Islamic intellectuals.
This new tendency of the Iraqi regime has been accompanied by some
sort of freedom granted to religious scholars in general, who
currently enjoy great credibility on the part of the people and the
Iraqi government itself.
It is worth noting that the regime’s grip over Islamists has remarkably
been mitigated since the second Gulf War so as to be able to strike a
balance between the Shiite and the Sunnis.
Such observations have led me to the reality of the internal situation.
Though tendencies and sects of Iraqis are different and sometimes
contradictory, they all consider U.S. invasion as an occupation that
will lead to more looting of Iraqi fortunes.
This is the reason behind the support of all Iraqi parties for the
regime, despite their severe differences. Some opposing groups have
suffered greatly under the current regime, yet, both parties – the
government and opposition – have agreed on one thing, namely, disre-
garding such differences or delaying them till after the crisis.
Shiites have made up their minds a long time ago. Abdel-Aziz Al-Hakim,
an Iraqi opposition official, has declared his refusal of the practices
of the Iraqi President, while opposing the notion of cooperating with
Washington in its war on Iraq.
Though some of them are against the Iraqi regime, Sunnis find it
incumbent to defend their homeland and dignity. They know quite well
the risks of the U.S. plans. Hence, they defend the regime out of
their hatred for the Americans.
Yet, the position of the Kurds is still hesitant, as they sometimes
declare themselves neutral, some other times say they support the
occupation and other times defend the regime.
