"We are still undecided on the action to be taken against the errant members," he said. "However, we are confident they will be dealt with accordingly." Shalahudeen said the list of errant division members included its former permanent chairman Abdul Rahman Kadir, who is now State Assemblyman for Penanti, and Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. Abdul Rahman had contested under the Parti Keadilan Nasional banner in the last general election and so did Dr Wan Azizah, who won the Permatang Pauh Parliamentary constituency. The latter is also president of Parti Keadilan Nasional. Other errant members whose names were submitted to the Umno supreme council included chairmen of several of the division's branches, its Wanita and Youth wings' chairmen and several division committee members. Shalahudeen said the offences committed by the errant members included contesting against Barisan Nasional candidates and supporting Opposition candidates. "Although we are confident that Abdul Rahman and Dr Wan Azizah have been sacked from Umno, we are still unsure if disciplinary action has been taken against the remaining errant members." "Permatang Pauh Umno division is now stable and getting stronger," he added. "We are committed to Umno and support for the Opposition in our area has waned." On the recently concluded Umno branch meeting, Shalahudeen said only four of its 89 branches failed to hold their meetings. This was because of lack of quorum due to failure by most of the branch members to pay their annual subscription fees on time. The branches are Titi Timbul, Permatang Tengah Baru, Taman Bunga Raya and Permatang Janggus. He said the division would also send 100 members to lend support to Barisan Nasional candidate Redzwan Harun in the Sanggang by-election on April 1. Meanwhile, the division's Youth and Wanita wings will hold their meetings this Sunday. The Wanita wing will hold its meeting at the division's Rumah Bahagian at 9am while the Youth wing will hold its meeting at Pearl View Hotel at 2pm. The division will hold its delegates' conference, also at the Rumah Bahagian, at 9am on March 26. All the meetings will be opened by its acting chairman Datuk Ahmad Saad.
