I think other people have had success using STL within the Half-Life SDK.
It seems to give a little more trouble for Linux newbies trying to get the
proper
Just make sure to statically link the libstc++ library (look in
/usr/lib/gcc-lib for a file called libstc++something.a and add that to
the linking stage of the linux binary).
For windows, shouldn't be a problem :)

Didn't think you could mix shared and static linked libraries... but I'm not
one of those GCC/Linux experts :-)
I had loads of trouble with it so I cut a few things out and only use a STL
version with headerfiles.
