I am trying to figure out how to remove Steam ID bans without editing the
banlist file. When I try to use rcon removeid with a steamid v2 or v3 I get
couldn't find or invalid ban id errors even though the person is banned.
Also, sm_unban does not work on either format, saying invalid

This is truelly getting pathetic. I remember when source ran so smooth where
lag was fixable with rate scripts and admins had full control over there
servers. But ever since steam/valve started with there updates and the o' so
special cl_restrict_server_commands 1 crap ,it isnt even
Man this really sux A** big time. Would activating VAC2 or disabling vac
totally avoid this prob.?

Shut down your server and make sure your gameinfo.txt isn't write
protected,
then re-run the update - this should sort it out. :)
