No, the VPK tool only knows how to add files to a VPK (or rebuild it from
scratch). It does not support any incremental file operations.
Take a look at gameinfo.txt to get more info about which VPKs are mounted.
Please note that the Source engine games do NOT work exactly like L4D or CS:GO.
If you are willing to modify gameinfo.txt (and be aware that it could get
stomped on each update) you can very easily control the search paths.
For example, you could run each instance out of a different directory, using a
different gameinfo.txt for each instance. In such a setup, it would
Some reports that VPK's have cut client load times in half or more on TF2 beta.
No data currently on server improvements.

Hello Guys,
I'm having a serious problem here. Any of my Counter Strike 1.6 servers can be
seen on the list of the game.
1) I've already updated all my game servers with SteamCMD2) I've tried to stop
all running server and download new files (vanilla) and run only this3) I've

Use the following WebAPI call to dig into issues for your server:
http://api.steampowered.com/ISteamApps/GetServersAtAddress/v0001?addr=204.140.22.89format=json
(change the addr= parameter to match your server).

Helo,
Thanks. Before watching this, I could see that my servers are no showing on the
correct region. I could find some of them on East USA
Running this API, we can see some region -1 only with cstrike:
The region variable is no longer used and should be ignored, the list order is
now based upon a dynamic ip database lookup (and the same system that all those
other games you listed use). Your server appears to be listing properly.

Alfred,
Actually they're being listed, but on the wrong region. This happens only to CS
1.6 servers, as you can see in the result of the API.

He just said the region is no longer used and should be ignored.
Perhaps it would be best to also remove the sv_region convar along with
the GUI elements in the server browser (unless those still work somehow).

Ok man, I removed this...
But it's still possible to list servers by region, right? So, how can I fix
this problem?
I really need them at the right place.

Is there any way to check if the Geolocation is working correctly?
I know some databases where IPs owned by European companies were mistakenly
labeled as European even though they were located in the US.

I've checked using some ip whois, all of them are showing my IPs to Brazil.
This make no sense to be listed in US.
