Sounds exactly the same as what we were getting before the update that
caused us to stop running it, so maybe its the same bug/issue? Hits
90%+ after several hours (empty or not), server still works etc, but
its 90% cpu even when empty after a few hours.

Subject: [hlds] Problem with HL2MP server since last update (Linux)
Reply-To: hlds@list.valvesoftware.com
Hello,
Ever since the last update (today) my server's cpu usage shoots up
Something that I've just thought about, does the hldsupdatetool have
different exit codes? ie: if the update completes, it should exit with code
0, else with a code 0.. that could be useful for updates, ie make a batch
file that loops the update until the exit code is 0... seeing as I'm getting
no
I also had that same problem on Thursday. I really wish they'd improve the
update tool to really retry even when you specify -retry. I had -retry and it
just quit when it received the message about not steam content servers
available.

In addition to the cpu usuage problem, we've suffered 3 crashes with
the same unhandled exception:
srcds.exe - Application Error : The exception unknown software
exception (0xc005) occurred in the application at location
0x0040
Debugging the dump file shows the last address on the call
I've been getting these crashes too, and it seems to be coming from
physics.cpp in the PhysFrame function. The pointer physenv is NULL.
At least that's according to the mini-dump files. I went ahead and put a
modified version of the server dll (which we can do now since we got the
HL2DM code,
