Ok I am not sure if anyone else is getting this attack but after 3 days of hard work I have blocked this asshole from crashing my server. Seems he was crashing my servers by spamming fake rcon passwords (rcon from 93.167.245.178:59832: Bad Password rcon from 93.167.245.178:53264: Bad Password rcon from 93.167.245.178:59350: Bad Password rcon from 93.167.245.178:58142: Bad Password rcon from 93.167.245.178:33116: Bad Password) The server while trying to ban the ip crashes apparently... You guys just have to secure your rcon passwords and make sure that the server isn't banning fake tries.. at least not while its being spammed by multiple ip's at one time. [hlds] Spam Connecting Crashing Server
I got a msg earlier today from http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197961100939 who is crashing my servers as well. He asked me whos servers i wanted crashed tonight, when i told him no ones and that server admins work hard to keep everything working, I somehow offended him. Not sure how hes managing to crash the servers, I have rcon_locker inabled. I know he doesn't have my rcon or any other info since i don't store the rcon password in server.cfg and I even have the server.cfg renamed. [hlds] Server crashing....
How can i read crash files that end with .mdmp? My servers are crashing every 2-3 hours sometimes more and everytime they crash they generate a file similar to Steam__273447__2009_12_21T5_18_51C21205187.mdmp in the orangebox folder. I am hosting these servers on a windows box. I would like to mention that these crashes did start right after the latest update from valve. I have looked at my plugins and server logs and everything looks normal, nothing sticks out that might cause a crash... Anyone know the steam startup command to block valve servers from making a popup error msg? I need firedemon to auto restart the servers once they crash. How does this delisting thing work? I had 3 server delisted all at the same time this morning. I contacted steam but i haven't heard anything back from them. As far as i can tell, all servers had members playing in them constantly and on average everyone played at least a round before they left. With 24/7 server many people come in just for a round or two so its unrealistic to penalize a server for being a revolving door, since its unrealistic for people to be on one map for hours on end.
