How possible is it to hard lock out the remote eaves-dropping/2D spectator
features when zb_warmode 1 is on?
These features look abusable for competitive gaming.

All,
Dont know why but i have this issue where i type in quit or restart in a
server (tf2) it usually
works, but sometimes the last lines show Log reported quit or something
like that.
Then it just hangs there..
I can press cltr-c and then it goes, but this ruins all my auto update
features.
I have just noticed this (see below) on a srcds_l server running css.
After that the server didn't respond (you aren't even able to enter
quit to the console) and it took 100% cpu.
rcon from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:6565: command status
rcon from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:6565: command sv_allow_wait_command 1
looks more like someone knows (guessed?) your rcon pw and messed with you.
Is there something else in the logs prior to this? (like rcon from : Bad
RCON Password or similar)
Ctrl + F for their IP might help finding searching.

I assume this is CS Source? It has a bug, where if you yourself type
quit, it will not quit but starts eating 100% cpu. As for the exploit,
i've seen this working on the old engine but not with orangebox so it
might be something new. Do you have any extra security, like plugins
running?
@ics: is this the same issue i have with tf2, its almost the same ..

You can disable the remote admin feature by setting the contents of
addons/SourceOP/features/remote.txt to 0. Alternatively, don't give any
remote admins permission to view player chat or view the map overview.

FYI, The Sacrifice updates have been released for both L4D and L4D2. Content
servers are grinding to a halt, so good luck getting your servers updated
right now. :P

Yep,
Once again I'm set aghast in amazement how well Valve have handled the
updates.
They are showing little evidence of having learned a thing about how to
deploy such large updates despite having been burned several times on
previous occasions. Not only can I not get my servers updated
For whatever reason, this update is 3.5GB. It appears that files from
the original game are being updated in addition to new files from the
DLC being downloaded.

I'm more worried about a team of 5 in the middle of a match being sat in a

relaying live updates of their positions.

How is this different from playing in a match in a server where sourcemod is
installed with the players toggling god, giving extra health, etc? This is
why you don't play matches in servers where plugins are installed.

You never play games on servers with server plugins.

Ok the update policy isn´t the best...
But since the update has been deployed this way and the servers are
overloaded you have only two choices:
- be mad and swear the whole evening
- turn out the pc, let outupdate to its job relax and drink a beer.

Yeah there was another update for L4D2 and it runs fine after that but
the original Left 4 Dead server does not start at all.

We have fixed this. Update your servers to get the correct files. This was due
to an incorrect configuration error when publishing the dedicated server depots.
