I'm looking for a cheap dedi near the UK which can run a web server, MC server
and a tf2 server. What sort of performance could I get out of the 24G on this?
(How many TF2 servers/slots)

Hi,
I have a debian x64 24G at Kimsufi since 1.4 years, and i've no problem about
that. Located on North of France, I've a 24ms ping on CSS w/ 24 players.I run
10 TS3 Servers, 3 CSS, 1 TF2 and 3 MC Servers. No lag, also when full. I also
have all my websites who run on the server, and I
Thank you very much, how much CPU/RAM does that use?

Hi,
I also have a server at OVH kimsufi on a I7 950 with 24GB and 2TB of hard
drive, I currently have 22 server on killing floor of 6 to 30 slots,I can
tell you that the dedicated server running very well and I can make more
server, it was just to tell you that you can do 20 servers maybe more on
15+ may be too many, I think. Or, if there is ONLY hlds servers running, it
will be ok.But, if you also have MC servers, I don't think so.
Here is, as I think, what can be the maximum on the server:5 to 10 hlds servers
(12 max)5 MC servers as 2GO (or) 3x (2 to 3G) + 1x 10Gup to 10 TS3 Servers
Thanks to everyone, a few more things to finish:
Any chance I could have the IP of your tf2 server so I can try it out? Email it
directly to neobened...@hotmail.co.uk if you don't want to put it here.
How many slots do you have per MC server?

One tip I'll give you, is if you're going to run minecraft, which is a
resource hog, run it with nice -n1
For some reason, this DOESN'T seem to negatively affect minecraft to any
detectable degree, probably because it runs at 20 ticks per second and so
has more wiggle room in the scheduling
Killing floor is an extremely poor performance metric. My i5 laptop
could host 16 or so of them with little difficulty.

I run my server from Kimsufi, and have never had any issues. The connection is
good (1Gbit), and I run 2 Minecraft servers, 1 TF2 server, a TeamSpeak server
and 3 websites with nginx, no hiccups or issues, with debian.
I found their support to be slightly inefficient though, our server got
I've always used CentOS, is there any reason to use debian over it (seems
everyone uses debian)?
