Just watched that amazing clip on youtube of the Berlin Phil. playing the
Schumann Konzertstuck with Stephan Dohr playing 1st. What an incredible sound!
Does he have any solo recordings out? What kind of horn was he playing for
this performance? Why was Dale Clevenger playing 2nd?

About your left hand going numb, you should see your doctor. Suggest that there
may be something putting pressure on a nerve, possibly in your neck. Don't
panic, it can probably be fixed with physical therapy and/or exercises. With me

Excellent advice Tim!
Also, one additional note - Bona has improved his zippers on his MB1-MB3
cases with the addition of a metal stop where the zippers come together.
The newer cases (and of course the MB5-MB7) are a lot better than they
used to be in regards to their zippers. My MB5 has withsto

Listers,
If you are contemplating purchasing a new Finke horn, now would be a
good time to order it. I have just been informed that soon there will be
another round of price increases in the order of $1,000 due to the falling
US dollar. Orders placed now will be billed at current prices.
Forgive me if I repeat myself. But on the subject of zippers...
There has been talk of zippers on the MB cases going bad and being
expensive to repair. Before you spend a lot of money on replacing
these or any other zippers, take your case to a good local cobbler.

I seem to be doing something wrong. Lately, the fingers of my left hand are
going numb when I play. I've tried changing the angle by lifting my elbow a
little. I've tried leaving my pinky out of the hook. But I'm still having the
problem. Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks

In case my memory is still working, I think I recall doing a

Best I can recall, it was a rather decent transcription, challenging
for a wind band and sonorous.

I was also going to suggest BAGS, as I have owned one for 5 years and am

I tend to agree with Hans on this one, though not as adamantly. Changing the
sound source does alter the character of the music, and it may wind up being
different music.
For example, while I dislike playing Sousa intensely, I have yet to hear a
symphony orchestra do justice to a Sousa march, whic

Hi,
I am new to this list and am trying to learn as much as possible regarding
horn playing. This is with the ambition to assist my grand son.
For the moment I have to questions, one is the recommendation for fingering
on the Bb and F side of a double horn. He has an Alexander 103 double horn.

years.
