J.D. Shaw (the Boston Brass horn player) can change to trumpet in the middle
of the song and he sounds great on both of then.
Do you know anybody else
Sadly, no. But you can find out more about Jukka aswell as The Golden
Horns -quartet at www.thegoldenhorns.com/The_Golden_Horns/TGH_English.html

This past holiday season, we were playing some new arrangements with the
Philharmonic. One passage had written above it 'sneak in.' So, the second

had actually improved as the night grew old!

I've found that if I place my lips against a full but opened bottle of
wine about 10 minutes before playing and really stay self
minute practices, although time has sometimes been
originally alloted for that as well, and so everyone just arrives to be
ready to play by the time the concert starts, all warmed up etc.

A minor issue that I have never seen discussed
Dear list,
I am wondering if anyone knows who played first and obbligato horn on
the Deutsche Grammophon recording of Mahler's fifth symphony with the
Philharmonia Orchestra playing and Giuseppe Sinopoli conducting. It was
recorded in January 1985.
Thank you,

We are currently playing the Carmen Fantasy and all the horn parts are
simple. They are however quite exposed and there is need for
transposition in E, D and C. Never the less, in my opinion the hardest
part is counting all the rests :)
Have fun,

Hi,
I was just listening to the end title music of the movie Independence
Day and was wondering who played in the horn section for that soundtrack
and especially who plays the great solos in the afore-mentioned part?
Thanks in advance,

I accidentally stumbled across this while looking around the Naxos Music
Library.
Sandor Balassa: Pastorale and Rondo, Op. 66
Sounds like a nice piece, not too contemporary for my taste :)

I presume you mean off the leg?
