organisations. In this case I would suspect that MSF obtains data layers from
many sources, OSM, local agencies, on ground knowledge/organisations. The map
examples will be made up of all these layers,

I reckon a good place to start is to look at the project in the Hot Tasking
Manager and find out who created the project, and for which organisation. A
quick contact with them can probably answer your questions. I suspect the
answer will be very different between projects.

Alas, any import of edited data is beyond my current skill set. I am very much
a beginner at HOT / OSM digitising. You will need to refer back to others in
HOT for further advice before proceeding.
