*Java Web services and Database developer:*
The role of senior developer to join of the Aspire Performance Reporting
application development team. This application has a major home grown
batch module that runs on Sybase ASE server and is main data store for
client web service requests for performance data. This role requires an
individual who has extensive experience with working on large RDBMS systems
and on the distributed side on web services.
This role requires the individual to have extensive hands on experience
with web services using java technologies, preferably running on JBOSS
application servers. Other aspects of this application involves a large
module for batch. The batch module is developed using Sybase technology
and requires extremely strong database development experience preferably
15.x version. The role requires expertise in translating business
requirements into practicable solutions that scale both technologically and
operationally. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience in
architecture, designing and delivering large-scale database applications as
well as web applications. In this role the developer will work with
engineers and other cross functional teams like Product Management,
Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, Operations, etc. to develop
innovative solutions that deliver business functionality while maintaining
performance, scalability, reliability, and realistic implementation
schedules without neglecting development goals and principles. The
candidate will be working with firm defined architectural guidelines in UI,
Web, DB & SOA and use necessary tools to ensure the team is adhering to the
standards.
*Required Qualifications:*
· Bachelors Degree in computer science/electrical engineering or
equivalent.
· Strong Communication Skills (both written and oral)
· 10+ years of Java/ J2ee server side development skills delivering SOA
services.
· Strong Sybase or SQLServer database experience
· Shell or any scripting language experience
· Strong Unix experience
· Knowledge of Subversion or any other source code control systems
· Experience in data migrations/data conversion and loads across platforms
such as Sybase is a plus
· Familiarity with Ant scripts, Maven build automation or similar
deployment tools
