We currently have an opportunity for a Software Testing Specialist with a major direct Teradata Client in Baltimore, MD Position : Software Testing Specialist Location: Virtual/Remote with occasional travel to Baltimore, MD Expenses: Expenses will be paid for travel to Baltimore Job Description: • Work as part of a dynamic team involved with testing business intelligence, data analytics, web and portal products for new features and system enhancements using both manual and automated testing approaches. • Provide technical support to requirements, development, testing, help desk, and training teams. • Interact with the development team to ensure data integrity and optimize end-user experience and performance. • Support internal and external users with User Acceptance Testing planning, execution and monitoring. • Follow the corporate and program SDLC and quality guidelines, as well as adhere to industry regulations and compliance requirements. • Convert business, functional, and non-functional requirements into test cases. • Design, develop, execute and maintain automated and manual test scripts, test plans, requirements traceability matrix, and test summary reports. • Contribute to requirements review sessions with internal and external stakeholders. • Automate functional, performance and load testing of HTML, Java and C applications using the HP Application Lifecycle Management toolset, with or without a framework. • Construct complex SQL statements and prepare test data using database tools. • Analyze record counts, review metadata, and use statistical functions to analyze data quality. • Maintain accurate defect tracking and reporting metrics. • Provide advanced technical, product and process guidance on various testing activities to other QA team members. • Support management in analyzing and implementing initiatives to improve overall process and product quality to enhance the value for end users. Required Skills: • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business administration or equivalent. • Possesses 5+ years of experience performing Testing and Validation activities in large scale, complex IT environments. • 3+ years of experience testing COTS Business Intelligence or analytics tools such as SAS, BusinessObjects, Cognos, MicroStrategy, and/or others. • 3+years of experience with designing and implementing test automation frameworks, harnesses and scripts leveraging tools such as HP UFT and Selenium. • Understands semantic layers and report structures; interprets error logs and debugs complex reporting and analytics defects, especially for the SAS product suite. • Able to create load tests using HP Application Lifecycle Management functions for up to 200 concurrent users. • Hands-on experience with design, development, and implementation of testing processes, and creation of test plans, test cases, and automated test processes to support overall quality objectives. • Demonstrates previous experience designing and implementing quality assurance and testing methodologies, processes, standards, and tools. • Knowledge of database hierarchy and SQL attributes such as group by, order by, and similar constructs, to verify data values and query results. • Experience testing HTML 5, JavaScript, Web Services, RESTful API’s, SOAP API’s, and browser compatibility. • Effectively demonstrate a working knowledge of decision and intelligence systems concepts, and database structures such as ETL, normalization, datamarts, fact tables, dimensions, views, cubes, olap, rolap, rbac, star and snowflake schemas. • Ability to interpret complex data and communicate it in an effective manner leveraging advanced reporting and visualization techniques. • Thorough knowledge of system testing practices, and how testing approaches are affected by System Development Life Cycle choices, including Waterfall and Agile. • Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including understanding technical documentation skills. • A self-starter with good communication skills, who is also a team player. Desired Skills & Experience • Hands-on experience with SAS BASE / EBI / EG / EM / ODS / BI Dashboard / Information Delivery Portal / Information Map Studio / OLAP / Visual Analytics, as well as data step programming (implicit/explicit do loop control, functions, formats, informats, hash tables, date time handling and macro language/macro variables). • Experience with deployment and configuration of the HP Application Lifecycle Management product, as well as functional and performance testing automation using ALM products, is highly desired. • Knowledge of the Medicare FFS claims processing systems and business procedures. • Detailed knowledge of the CMS Teradata Integrated Data Repository (IDR), as well as knowledge gained by testing Medicare or Medicaid information systems, is greatly valued. • Previous healthcare domain experience, especially testing connected with Medicare claims, is appreciated. • Previous experience with application development in an Agile and/or CMMI SDLC is considered advantageous. • Experience with Section 508 Compliance Testing for Applications and Documents, especially using JAWS, is considered helpful. • Experience with release management and collaboration tools such as DOORS, MKS, ALM and SharePoint.
