The makefile .pto.mk is not actually used for stitching. The used makefile is generated in the (windows) temp folder. If starting the stitching, leave the message box open and go to the windows temp folder (c:\Users\MS\AppData\Local\Temp). There should be 3 files hug.tmp. One of them is the used makefile (probably the latest one, when you look on the file modification date; the other one are temp project file, if you use an editor to inspect the file, you will recognise the content). Could you try to post this file? I also see this problem. OSX Leopard, PPC, Hugin 2010.5.0-4886. It shows up exactly as Bruno describes, but when picking a different tab , such as Layout (where I see the Layout tab highlighting and Preview stays highlighted by the way) nothing happens at all until the cursor is moved off the Layout tab. Then the crash starts to proceed. What seems to be related, but perhaps not, is that Hugin runs the FPW as Hugin starts up fresh if Hugin was previously closed out with the FPW window open. In other words the FPW showing state is honored. But this does not make sense when there is no project loaded. One ends up seeing the FPW window, in an empty state, on top of the Hugin window. Hugin normally has its FPW button inactive when there is no project loaded. Therefore the FPW process should have been inhibited. Hugin can crash under this condition when a project is loaded while the FPW is open in this condition, sans the overview. (Closing the FPW first is a workaround.) FPW acts like it is a separate process. Two windows open, the fast preview and the main tabbed window. When I drag the crop borders in the fast preview, it does not get reflected in the stitcher tab. Attempts to launch hugin (either the version included with F12 (2009.2) or the version in the bugbear repo (2009.4) result in an immediate segfault. If I delete ~/.hugin, then it runs giving me the 'Top of the day' popup, and as soon as I click 'Close' it segfaults.
