On Redhat-like systems, it's libxml2-devel
On Debian-like, it's libxml2-dev
Configure uses the pkgconfig file, something like
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/libxml-2.0.pc
In the end, we actually use libxml/parser.h and libxml/tree.h in the code

I'm trying to figure out what I need to instatll to
get configure to believe it can build hwloc with XML
support and not getting very far. :-(
Even looking at the configure script and running it
with bash -x doesn't seem to shed any light on what
it's looking for.
Any clues please ?
cheers,
Chri
This bug seems easy to reproduce:
../configure
make
make distclean
../configure
make
[...]
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `hwloc.7', needed by `all-am'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/samuel/Downloads/HWLOC/hwloc-1.0rc5/utils'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

Only one unchecked malloc() left, the one at line 41 of
src/misc.c in hwloc_snprintf(). I believe the attached
patch should fix this.

Fair enough; I was just curious if you want them over in v1.0. If you want to
move them over, go ahead and do so. We don't necessarily have to cut another
rc before final release if this is all that is left to be done...

They concern rc5 as well, I'm just unsure they are really worth making
yet another RC, as they have no impact on the behavior of hwloc at al

Did you want to get those warning fixes in to v1.0? (r2074 - 2076)
Or are they trunk-only?
