Just a note:
Prior to 12.1.0, the path was /media/??? This is a little problematic
because:
cd /media/
ls
on a 12.1.0 shows nothing (on an earlier system you should see ???).
Also on an earlier system:
cd /run/media/olpc
will show No such file or directory.
On 12.1.0, if you cd
The change was made by Fedora, not OLPC.
Seemed rather arbitrary to me as well...

For me too. In Ubuntu 13.04 instead:
/media/USB_NAME
is:
/media/user/USB_NAME
I think that it's better than /run/media..
