Re: [IAEP] [Sugar-devel] [SLOBS] [SLOB] meeting reminder

2016-04-01 Thread Walter Bender
Thanks all for your input regarding today's SLOB meeting. I've finalized
the agenda as per below, trying to accommodate time sensitive topics, the
order in which topics have been raised, and a logical progression for the
discussion.

1. Google Summer of Code status (Walter) -- time sensitive
2. I18n
(a) Manager discussion (Tony)
(b) Request from Edgar Quispe to attend Traducción e interpretación en
las lenguas originarias del Perú meeting in Lima (Walter and CJL) -- time
sensitive
(c) Proposal from Samson Goddy re i18n in Nigeria (Walter and CJL)
(d) Sugar Translation Projects Fund proposal (Laura)
3. Sugar Vision (Lionel)
4. Proposed rules for removal and replacement of SLOB members (Adam)
5. Treasurer position and process (Caryl)
6. Wiki Cleanup Party planning (Walter)

regards.

Re: [IAEP] [Localization] [SLOBS] [SLOB] meeting reminder

2016-04-01 Thread Sean DALY
Concerning marketing, In the past I funded nearly everything out of pocket
including big-ticket items like the 100 USB sticks and of course travel but
was unable to continue doing so when I reached $5000 of expenses. I did
request and receive funding from the SLOBs for newswire press releases, but
that forfeit has expired at this point, we would need new funding if we
decide to issue press releases.

I pay the monthly cost of the press page softphone number, although I
haven't tested if it is active for awhile. I would appreciate reimbursement
for that expense, I would need to look up how many years + months that has
been going (cost was low, under $10 a month I think).

It would help a lot to give continuity to February's pending issues first.

Also, since there are so many localization related items, it will be smart
to keep them in logical order, and considering that the statement of work
from the Trip Advisor grant states that "...we would use the Tripadvisor
donation *as the initial basis of a fund to help **translation efforts...*",
it is logical to start with the fund related motions.

The new proposed agenda for today's meeting would look like this:

Agenda

1. Sugar Vision (Lionel)
2. Rules of the Road (Adam)
3. Google Summer of Code status (Walter)
4. Sugar Translation Projects Fund (Laura) See [0]
5. Request from Edgar Quispe to attend Traducción e interpretación en las

9. Treasurer position and process (Adam and Caryl) See [1]

I thought it was worthwile to create a link with the time of the meeting
expressed dynamically.

In the past Daylight Saving Time etc seem to have caused confusion.
