Your right. Using acpi_listen command all the other keys do report themselves fine. So the only issue is the mute button. Also I don't know if you noticed but apparently Lenovo is going to start selling T61 R61 with Suse SLED 10.3. This could be why Lenovo has add the Linux friendly mode. On

Special thanks to Guo Yonggang for showing me where to find the source code for these input system utilities. The following were recorded using acpi_osi=Linux. If I omit that, volume up and down remain the same but mute no longer results in any input events. ThinkPad model: Lenovo ThinkPad
