Any experiences using TS7740 Copy Export feature?

Greetings, I am hoping to heard from any IBM TS7740 Virtual tape customers that are using the copy export feature to create and send DR tapes offsite. What are your experiences? Performance implications? Conversion issues? Working as expected? DR testing issues? Downsides? etc..etc..
