system level is and it is amazing how many don't know. This will be
useful.
BTW, FDR can also display this info. If FDR is in linklist, enter
FDRDEBUG SYS
If you use
In ISPF (PDF), enter option 7.3 (Dialog Test and Variables) and
look for ZOS390RL variable. It contains your level of operating
system.

Someone told me to type in D IPLINFO in master console to know
the z/OS version. But I can not touch the master console and get the
following errors by TSO login:

you're logged into TSO; the READY prompt and IKJ msgs
are part of it.
D IPLINFO is an MVS system display command.
do you have SDSF or its equivalent ?
issue it from the SYSLOG screen (if you have the authority).
