Not 100% sure this still applies but it used to be a REQUIREMENT that the dump job runs on the system that has the file system mounted if you are *not* sharing the filesystems in the sysplex (shared HFS). Peter Hunkeler CREDIT SUISSE

Page 177 in UNIX System Services Planning. Depending on the release of MVS, you can do several things depending on what you are trying to accomplish. The Redbook HFS User Guide (Page 103 or so) is helpful as well. I prefer to dump using DF/dss and restore with a RENAMEU. Doug At 01:18 PM
