I wonder if I could get a button that says that to wear.

That's a good point I suppose, but I think he's just worried about being
able to move his production system to a hardware platform so that he can
convert to something a bit more recent without bending over backwards and
doing back flips.

Maybe we should rename my session to z/OS conversion FUD-Buster, what
do you
think?
FUDSI -- includes Superstition and Ignorance, both of which
frequently accompany FUD... :-)

Carlos,
As Timothy replied, please consult with your IBM rep. What may technically
run, and what you may be able to license may be different.
The zNALC pricing metric is the replacement for z/OS.e (and NALC). For more
information about it, look here:
It's not IBM supported but it will work. Contact me offline if you have
any questions.

It appears from the code that z/OS 1.6 can be run on a business class z10
(model 2098) assuming that you have the appropriate APARs that were
provided in support of z10, such oas OA25040.

Hello,
Can I run, zOSe 1.6 under a z10 machine? This is for a temporary
migration, since customer has a z890 today
and z10 announcement didnĀ“t show zOSe as a supported system.
Any real experiences?
Thanks

Carlos, please inquire with your friendly IBM representative to ask for
assistance. They may have a temporary workaround available to facilitate
the migration.
