Re: capacity planning
Hi John, Take a class from Neil Gunther; check out his website at http://www.perfdynamics.com/. Neil has some great books and a very good Annotated Bibliography on his site, I took the Guerrilla Capacity Planning class and it put it all together for me, times have changed and the capacity planning cycle is shorter these days than it used to be. Neil talks about this in his book:Guerrilla Capacity Planning A Tactical Approach to Planning for Highly Scalable Applications and Services. Also become a member of CMG (Computer Measurement Group). The CMG'08 Conference will be held December 7th through 12th in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Paris Hotel. the website has previous conference proceedings on their website. Also for your area check out the local CMG chapter Ohio Valley Computer Measurement Group; http://www.ohvcmg.org/. Good Luck... Lieven, Check out http://www.stuhenderson.com/MANEWS01.pdf and search the pdf for PPT; Also I did a google search on 'PPT PRIV in IBM SYS1.PARMLIB(SCHEDXX)' and found tons of interesting stuff.
