As well as the dataset alias you also need a HLQ alias pointing to the same
usercat, for this to work all the entries in question need to point to the same
user cat, I also find it best to always specify the CAT parm when creating
these definitions.
ISPF uses different catalog search

I manager to define the alias,
I can browse the related library under ISPF.
When I try to run a job the uses the alias, either as a JOBLIB or as input to
IEBCOPY, the job says it cannot find the dataset.
Any suggestions on the reason, and how to solve the problem.
This is under z/OS v2.2
