What were you doing at the time? And IPL? A SETSMS?
How is your IGDSMSxx member created?
SMSACDS(dsname) COMMDS(dsname)
Try a SETSMS COMMDS(x) Check my syntax.

So is the system name defined to the configuration?
BTW, a monoplex still has a sysplex name unless it is running sysplex(local).

We have made the PLEXCFG=XCFLOCAL in the ieasys00 and the system is defined
in the configuration.

I guess , Mark is asking whether the SYSNAME is defined in SCDS .

Where do you specify the SYSNAME in SCDS ? Is it in IDCAM control card ?
SYSNAME is too even defined in IEASYS00.

It can be donw using option 8.3 in ISMF . And then an SMS configuration
should be activated from that SCDS. The new name will
then be placed in the ACDS. SMS will then propagate that information to
the COMMDS .
Mark ,
please correct me if am wrong !

I did for SETSMS for COMMDS there was no response at all, but for SCDS and
ACDS i got the below :
setsms acds(system.zt01.acds)
IGD068I ACDS SYSTEM.ZT01.ACDS SPECIFIED IS THE
SAME AS THE ACTIVE ACDS - COMMAND IS REJECTED
setsms scds(system.zt01.scds)
IGD056I ACDS SYSTEM.ZT01.ACDS NOT
The SCDS is catalogued on the system where I am trying to IPL it. So I am
not sure if ISMF is going to help me to change the sysname using ISMF from
the different system.. Is there a way to change in batch process ?(Since
the system is still not Up)
On Thu, Oct 10, 2013 at 2:42 AM, mf db
So the system does not come up far enough without SMS for you to
logon to TSO/ISPF and get into ISMF?
If you are doing this from a driving system, the way that sort of issue
is dealt with is via SSA. For VSAM, you do that via define path.

I believe ,there should be a SYSNAME already defined . If not , you would have
seen a message as given below
IGD081I COMMDS dsname DOES NOT HAVE SYSTEM sysname OR SYSPLEX sysplex
