Has anyone else run into these abends for OMVS jobs? There is an APAR out there
that recognizes the issue but has no solution.
What seems to be happening is we have a Websphere running in one of the BPAXS
and it gets recycled everyday by canceling it because it won't come down clean
because of

some scripts to check if things are up or not but to stopped working last
Friday. When we issue it using TSO NETSTAT or issue it from OMVS it just hangs.

We just ran out of non-reusable ASID and don't have an IPL scheduled for
another week. We have plenty of reusable ASID left. Will things that used all
the non-reusable ASID like DB2IRLM just use the reusable ones when they get

ask anyway. Our current backup solution is to flashcopy our volumes and then go
back and dump them to tape using DSS. Now we started backing up some of the
huge E3 volumes and it's been taking 50 minutes per

Hi Mark,
Ran the job with the NORUN part and it got a RC=0. Not sure what that proved
but maybe something. I then dumped the tape label and it looks good although as
we know it only shows the last 17 characters. I used one of the other tapes
that had the same error for the tape label dump.
Anyone have any experience with RACF on VM? I was creating a group that had
over 2000 MDISK statements. I got some type of size error that I didn’t
understand because RACF on VM is new to me. Maybe I need to create it as a
Universal group. Any thoughts?
