Christian,
I apologise for the delays in replying it is because the Yahoo mail is not
functioning properly
Hi Radoslaw,
I'm ready to learn, but coding
//DASDIN DD UNIT=515,DISP=OLD will result in a JCL error.
Coding
//DASDIN DD UNIT=515,DISP=OLD,DSN=NULLFILE or
//DASDIN DD DUMMY,UNIT=515 will get ADRDSSU complaining about INPUT DEVICE
TYPE IS INVALID or similar.
Can't test right now, I'm on the road.
Sorry, meant to answer to retired mainframer...

Hi Lizette, the OP wasn't very specific to what he wants to achieve and didn't
react on any of the replies he did receive already. It was me who brought z/VM
into the game, telling him that DDR would be his friend. Under z/OS, there's no
native tool that I know of to dump a volume specifying
That was me, sorry by suggesting DDR, IF z/VM was available. Sorry

be mounted and online. So, no offline dump with DFDSS

Should have added DFDSS backup as well...

Not that I know of natively under z/OS. If you have z/VM available, DDR is your
friend; or write your own using EXCP based on a few utilities Sam Golob and
other have written already.
