Re: Anyone Using MVS Bulk Data Transfer (File-to-File)?
Thanks, Timothy. Maybe it's time for a reminder as I've been asked a couple of times recently about what is in z/OS. A scan through the "List of z/OS base elements and optional features" in Planning for Installation, where you can see also when it was last changed, might show some interest to folks. btw - you'll see that that the three BDT elements (one base, two optional priced), haven't been changed since OS/390 V1R2. https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSLTBW_2.4.0/com.ibm.zos.v2r4.e0zb100/baseel.htm Of course BDT is supported, it is part of z/OS. -Marna WALLE z/OS Installation and Upgrade IBM Poughkeepsie -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN

Ed and Skip are correct. In fact, the z/OS Bulk Data Transfer (BDT) products are not only IBM supported but also IBM marketed. No End of Service date, no End of Marketing date. The 2019 z/OS 2.4 announcement letter included the BDT products: https://www.ibm.com/downloads/cas/US-ENUS219-344-CA/name/US-ENUS219-344-CA.PDF Scroll down and you'll see BDT FTF (File-to-File) listed with the entitlement identifier S01728V and BDT SNA NJE with the entitlement identifier S01728W. That means they're available for ordering even to new z/OS licensees. - - - - - - - - - - Timothy Sipples I.T. We considered using BDT many moons ago. NDM was the hands-down winner. However, BDT still appear to be supported. Still required for JES3 SNA, I believe. https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSLTBW_2.1.0/com.ibm.zos.v2r1.e0za100/e0za10007.htm . .
