Re: DISPLAY DUMP,ERRDATA rant

2020-07-25 Thread Peter Relson
A return rant:

It is most helpful to the entire IBM-Main community if action is taken to
request function that you feel is missing rather than just ranting.
Apparently no one has found the lack of this information to be so much of
a stumbling block in the 20 years of existence of 64-bit GRs that it was
worth requesting that functionality. If that has changed, then by all
means submit an RFE.

D D,ERRDATA is not typically thought of as the means for diagnosing a
problem for which an SVC dump was taken, where having 64-bit GRs and ARs
at time of error of course can be very important for such diagnosis. I
think of it as a way to get a quick clue about the problem.

Yes. I'd advise an RFE.

Isn't it about time that the 64 bit registers and ARs be included in the
display? The 64 bit EPSW is shown.

Should you use the mailblocks package and expect a response from me,
you should preauthorize the dissensoftware.com domain.

I very rarely bother responding to challenge/response systems,
especially those from irresponsible companies.
