By setting attribute +l onto .so files (and dlls) you can load them into common shared storage. So once it has been loaded, it is available to everyone. I can see this would be great for Java .so files at application startup. I can find little documentation on doing this. Is it recommended? Is there a list of recommended modules to enable the setting on? There is a rexx exec which lists the contents of the shared library area, and use count. Is it worth spending time exploring this area to make Java startup faster? Colin
