Few missing prefixes I just found: IOE, ABJ, CIU. Why? Look in Relating component ID to component name, module prefix, and product in book MVS Diagnosis: Reference. This one should help you in a way for IBM software. I believe someone said on IBM-MAIN that IBM reserves the first letter of the prefix for themself and other vendors should rather use other unreserved letter. HTH! In theory IBM owns all prefixes starting with A to I, and also Q, and the rest are for ISVs,customers, etc. IBM operates a registration service for these prefixes, but many ISVs, and on occasion IBM itself, do not follow the rules.
