I've put together a draft web page that is intended to be usable to any working group mailing list. I'd appreciate review comments on it. It is at: http://mipassoc.org/mass/ietf-list-rules.html Looks good Dave - thanks for doing this. One thing that could be added is info on what is an

If people want that possibility described, please speak up - Carl has the pen ready Yes that would be helpful. Well, I don't agree. I think it would defocus the discussion (which is about putting the IETF's administration onto a business-like basis). IMHO the only case in which

The same applies to Sunday and Friday but this hasn't caused any problem so-far. Why would Saturday be different? Because (U.S., maybe Pac Rim?) Jewish attendees can get back home in time for Friday night services when we end on Friday. If we end on Saturday, there's no way to get back home

Just so we're clear, that was my going-in assumption and I've kept that throughout the analysis. Any of the structures I've outlined Understood. can be focused strictly on administrative support (just like any of the structures could be corrupted to reach beyond that focus). That's why I

You know how many times I go to conferences and end up just leaving the bag or whatever the gift is in the hotel room? Every single one. Though, I must say, the bag from Salt Lake City is the best one I've ever been given and still use that. So unless there is a really high quality bag

But what about having a 90-120 minute plenary immediately BEFORE the Sunday reception? Besides technical presentations, IANA report and the like, it could include the IAB time, since the IAB is about 'strategic' issues. (Having the IESG later in the week is useful

* If so, should we continue with IESG on Wednesday and IAB on Thursday, or should we alternate them (or adopt some more radical schedule change -- probably too late for Minneapolis at this point). I like the idea of keeping to the two-plenary schedule at every IETF. * And should the IAB

Easy - don't go to events where you don't want people to know. The names are available. If you don't want your name on the list of attendees - don't attend. I doubt they copied the entire list. What horrible thing do you think they were doing with your name or email address? Is the fact

I'd second Dave's suggestion that we leave the POISSON list as is. Aside from the overhead of multiple lists, confusion might reign about which list is discussing which topic, with people ending up posting to multiple lists, etc. The increased focus may also help with the problem that POISSON
