we are looking for an outstanding postdoc to do research in chemistry at 
BM23 and ID24 XAS beamlines of the ESRF. The prioritized fields are 
catalysis and electrochemistry. We expect a postdoc to run their own 
research exploiting their collaboration network. The ideal candidate 
would be a link between our cutting-edge XAS facilities and leading 
academic groups in the field.

[Ifeffit] PostDoc position at Northeastern University

Northeastern University Center for Renewable Energy Technology is currently 
looking for highly qualified candidate to fill a Post-Doctoral Research 
Associate position with hands-on experience in the area of in situ and operando 
XAS, XANES, EXAFS spectroscopy, high-energy XRD as applicable to batteries 
(especially solid-state), fuel cells and electrolyzers. Familiarity with 
Brookhaven synchrotron facility (or other US-based light source facilities, 
e.g. ANL, SLAC) is a plus. Candidates should be in the US and authorized to 
work in the US (visa is _not_ offered).

We are looking for a postdoc candidate for XAFS analysis in PAL.

Tasks will be

  1. XAFS analysis of electrochemical energy materials

  2. Beamline management at Nano-probe XAFS beamline (BL8C)

  3. One's own research


The position requires PhD degree in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Materials 
science or Physics,

 Excellent writing and communication skills in 
English,

 Experience in XAFS analysis.


The position begins at any time in this year but earlier is better.

SSRL is currently looking to hire a two year post-doctoral fellow. The
successful candidate will utilize x-ray spectroscopic techniques (XAS and
EXAFS) to study the electronic and geometric structure of homogeneous
catalysis systems, including metalloprotein active sites and combine the
spectroscopic results with theoretical tools to gain insights into active
site structure and metalloprotein function correlations.

Jeff (and anyone else who might have a position to offer),

We don't really have rules, per se, just whatever the moderators (Me and 
Matt) are willing to put up with.


I think that helping young scientists find positions in science is a 
superb use of the mailing list.  Those jobs should probably be 
synchrotron-related.  They should probably be spectroscopy-related.
