Hi,
Since this thread was originally related to file mirroring, let me
introduce a file synchronizing software here. I have been looking for
a s/w to synchronizing and backing up files for a long time. Two of
them I knew were 'Unison' and 'Synkron'. Unfortunately, neither is
easy to use.

Then I found Conduit [ http://www.conduit-project.org/ ]. It is the
most user friendly sync program I have seen to date. Furthermore, it
doesn't do just file/folder sync - it can do syncing of media (youtube
etc), tomboy/gnote notes, photos (picasa, f-spot, smug-mug, flickr,
facebook etc), office files (open office, google docs ), RSS feed,
gconf settings etc. It can do one way or two way syncs, multiple
source syncs, etc. Its interface is intuitive and easy to use as well
(has a CLI as well). The project is still in infancy, but shows great
potential. I just hope it survives the initial phase. Please do try
this out if you are looking for syncing options.

@Shyam chettan: During an installfest (2nd Dishaa), a gentleman from
ISRO asked me about sync software in Gnu/Linux. At the time I knew
only Unison -so I recommended it. But the project is inactive. Anyway,
he has your contact details (just FYI).

Regards,
Gokul Das
